# 11. Lighting

The HRF Tank's lighting system consists of two 3 W LEDs mounted at the front, providing reasonably good illumination for driving in the dark. They are passively cooled using aluminum heatsinks as standard. Although the front cover is also designed to accommodate 3010 fans, and the Main PCB provides dedicated connections for them, I have not yet tested how quickly the LEDs overheat or how necessary active cooling is in practice.

The rear lighting consists of two sets of 5 mm THT LEDs, with one red and one white LED on each side. They can be configured to respond to the throttle stick position, indicating forward motion, braking, and reverse. Besides making the model more visible, they also slightly improve visibility when reversing in low-light conditions.
