# Overview & Features

Heavy RC FPV Tank

{% embed url="<https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=woVqPZ1tKaw>" %}

Hey! I’d like to introduce you to the **HRF Tank** - a tracked RC FPV vehicle designed around 3D printing and readily available RC and workshop components.

The project started several years ago, and I’ve been working on it on and off ever since, gradually improving, rebuilding and expanding it. I’ve finally decided to make it public and invite other DIY, 3D-printing and electronics enthusiasts to build their own versions and develop the platform together.

I hope the project’s complexity won’t scare you off. The HRF Tank is designed to be modular, and many of its systems can be simplified or replaced with your own solutions.

**PS:** I’m not an engineer - this is an amateur hobby project. So if you spot any mistakes, questionable design choices or unnecessarily complicated solutions, don’t be surprised. Feel free to let me know in the comments on Printables or on Discord (*coming soon*). :smile:

{% hint style="info" %}
The whole design is intended to be easy to customize. You can build a relatively simple version using standard RC electronics, or gradually add more advanced features as your project develops.

For example, liquid cooling is completely optional. It is useful for demanding setups, but it also adds cost, complexity and additional components. Feel free to build the “vanilla” version of the platform first and add more advanced systems later.
